How the countdown works
The math is the event date minus today's date, in calendar days. Weeks are the days divided by 7, and hours are the days multiplied by 24, counted from midnight at the start of today.

How many days until Christmas?
On 11/06/2026 there are 49 days left until Christmas (12/25/2026). Type 12/25 and the year you want to get today's count.
How do I find how many days are left until a date?
Enter the event date. The calculator subtracts today's date and shows days, weeks, hours, and weekdays left.
How many weeks are left until a date?
Divide the days left by 7. For 49 days, that is exactly 7 weeks. The tool also shows leftover days.
Is the hour count exact?
It counts 24 hours for each day, from midnight at the start of today to midnight at the start of the event day. No time of day is used.
What if the date has already passed?
The tool shows how many days ago the date was, with the gap in years, months, and days. If the date is today, the answer says Today.
